Associate Professor in Urology at the Medical University in Bratislava, Department of Urology, University Hospital in Vienna

In 1994 he successfully passed entry examination for Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and I graduated in June 2000.

He worked at the Department of Urology at the University Hospital in Bratislava since December 2000. During that period he was preparing himself for the first specialization degree in urology, which I have obtiained in October 2003. As a member of Salzburg-Cornell Medical seminars he participated on numerous seminars as well as attended the Department of Urology in AKH in Vienna under the auspices of Prof. Marberger and Prof. Djavan in May 2004 and September 2006.

He successfully passed the entry criteria for his PhD study in December 2004. The selected topic of his postgraduate study was – „Critical approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of symptomatic and complex renal cystic lessions“.

As a junior member of EAU he was selected to participate in the EUREP (European Urology Resident Education Programme) 3rd course held in Prague during September 2005. After the course in a short period, he obtained his second specialization degree in urology (European Certificate in Urology) after 5 years of practice in December 2005.

In 2007 he fulfilled the criteria of his sub-specialization certificate in uro-oncology and past the last step of his PhD studies in Bratislava.

He was a subinvestigator a and principal investigator for several studies regarding BPH and overactive bladder syndrom. He conducted a national survey „PETER study“ (Prostate and Expectations of Treatment – Epidemiology Research) 1 and 2 in 2010/2011.

He has been working at the University Hospital in Vienna, AKH at the Department of Urology since April 2009.

He became the Associate Professor in Urology at the Medical University in Bratislava in November 2011. The thesis of his habilitation was – Current dilemmas and controversies in diagnosis and active surveillance of small solid and cystic renal tumors.

His main areas of interest are focused on diagnostic modalities and treatment of kidney cancer, complex cystic renal masses and bladder cancer. Special interest is devoted to reconstructive, minimally invasive endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery. Latest activities consist of: member of the editorial board in – Czech Urology, member of the „Tumorboard for treatment of kidney and bladder“ and ethic commite of Medical University of Vienna and reviewer of World Journal of Urology.
